Expectations are getting more demanding for pierzynski:
Aging seems to have helped pierzynski to get into the prime form of his baseball life. Pierzynski is nearing to the milestone of 1000 innings in 10 successive seasons. He looks fit and extremely enthusiastic about the challenges and tasks that he is facing in this part of his life.
After the lunch meeting between the pierzynski and the chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, a deceleration was made regarding the pierzynski future play, which was announced as the pierzynski contract’s extension, to enable him to play for the white sox instead of going to the Dodgers.
Pierzynski appears to be ready for the task ahead as he himself said that he needs to be extra-fit and agile to meet the desired standards. He is very enthusiastic in a sense that he has more time to practice than before, as his children have grown up and started attending their school providing pierzynski an extra amount of precious time for training. Pierzynski also owns a gym in Orlando, which he thinks has helped him earn money for this time and to stay financially stable.
Pierzynski would report at the spring training to start the preparation for the completion of 1000 thread of innings, which has never been done before since the 1955. The only player other than him is the Jason Candall, who plays for the Royals.
He is putting everything that he has to stay up to the mark by following the health diet plans. He thinks of it as the foremost goal of his life.
After he lost about 20 pounds in previous two winters, he still only managed to reach the average of .231 but in the end of the last season he added .12 to make it to the average of .270. After that the hitting approached to .364.
Before the meeting between the chairman and the pierzynski, the chairman told him before the season ending that he should stay with the sox instead of going for any other side. This was led by his performance during the last couple of seasons.
Pierzynski was in the offing for the approval of contract by the Frank McCourt, who is the owner of Dodgers, until the sox’s general manager Rick Hahn and Pierzynski agent Steve Hilliard come to an accord for the next couple of years for the total sum of $8 million dollars deal for the upcoming two years. After the White Sox selected pierzynski for the next two years, the Olivo turned towards the mariners and signed a contract of $7 million USD, shortly after the induction of Pierzynski into the white sox’s team.
Pierzynski looked extremely happy and satisfied after this whole deal as he himself said that he was not expecting this and very much reconciled until approached by the Sox. This new contract has brought positive change in the personality of Pierzynski as he got what he wanted to acquire.
